Oh, can’t beat Chinese take out for a no effort meal! If I can restrain myself, it’s good for at least one more meal the next day, too.

Wasn’t mashed potatoes, had risotto. I’m not really a big fan of mashed potatoes for some reason, but I do love me some risotto.

Very nice indeed.

The trick with mash is using the right potatoes. Maris Piper potatoes are generally a good standard all rounder for chips, mash and jackets. While a good buttery potato such as Marabels have a natural creamy-ness and less starchy.

The good old method of using a masher (some use a processor or blender which destroys the potato and it’s flavour) with a little milk, proper butter and a little salt and pepper.
